Connectivity problem
At 5.00 pm yesterday, I was able to connect my laptop to the Internet, through a wireless router, with no problem. When I came to do the same thing at 9.15 pm, it didn't work. I got a message saying it couldn't be done and the automatic investigation which the computer carried out suggested that there was a problem - this in spite of the fact that the computer said it was connected with an 'excellent' signal. I tried repairing the connection anyway, to no avail.
Pinging the DNS address showed that the connection was fine - 4 packages returned. I tried disabling my firewall and antivirus (Kaspersky) but that didn't help, so I enabled them again. Our (wired) PC was fine. I was still having problems this morning.
Here I am at 3.00 pm and suddenly I'm able to use the machine again. As far as I know, I haven't done anything - but presumably something must have happened. What?
