vista (to be or not to be)

can anyone tell me why i am getting mixed signals about whether i can get a vista upgrade download.
microsoft says it is okay but download.com says not.
help me guys

It's only been released for a very short time, let them work out the flaws or possibly come up with a service pack 2 for it, then get it. I'd give it a good 6 mos to a year before i get it. Besides, I'm not so sure I like the Protected Content playback issues anyway. I may not get it at all. At least until several years from now when XP is no longer supported and I have no choice.
