I have just been given a DVD (home movie) that has an AVi extension. It won't play on my Sony DVD recorder but is fine on my PC. Is there any way I can get this to play on anything other than my PC ? It's on a DVD-RW by the way.
Any help would be appreciated

Assuming your DVD recorder plays Mpeg files (most of them do), then you will need to convert the file from avi to mpeg2. If you browse the internet for "avi to mpeg converter" you should be able to find free software to download.
