problems on start up

for about a month now I have been having problems with my computer starting up when I first switch it on it makes a popping sound then takes ages to come on sometimes it goes off again and starts again taking about ten fifteen minutes in all ,after that its ok. any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden I'm running windows xp

Download and install this program:
http://files.snapfiles.com/localdl834/StarterS etup.zip

Use it to remove unnessasary startup items. You should find your loading time is decreased.

If it is not, the problem may be being caused by spyware/adware or some malitious program. Update and scan using your antivirus and antispyware program.
AVG and Windows Defender For Example.
