Laptops ?

I have 2 laptops there are both different makes one is a Toshiba & the other is a Compaq.
Ive just put them both together and the quality of the screen on Compaq is miles better.
Ive checked the settings and there near as damit the same.
Could there be something wrong with the toshiba screen?

The screens don't have to be the same quality... maybe one's just better than the other.

Can you describe better the differences?

Are they different in brightness? Does one show colour banding? Does one have really blocky (pixelated) pictures?

If you no what i mean the tosh is a 17in and the other 15 but the compaq quality is cristal

's a bit like saying that because you put the same petrol in a mini and a porche they should do about the same speed.

Most laptops need special drivers to get the best out of the graphics, sound, etc.

When you re-install Windows it usually uses a basic driver so you get basic graphics.

See if you can find a graphics driver for the Toshiba. You may either have it on CD, or you can probably download it from the web.

The tosh is a better spec that why i thought the screen would be like my Compaq.
I have looked at my Compaq and it has a true bright screen where the other doesn't.
I have just bought the tosh and never noticed it until i put them both together.
I cant get used to the other once I've been on here.

Ive just looked on the net and my tosh is a Matt screen with a like of anti glare.
My Compaq is a true bright get picture but you do get glare on it.
I just thought there was a problem with the tosh but it seems not. I think i will stick with my Compaq quality screen.
