I have Microsoft Works on my new computer and if I type a document at home I can't open it at work in Windows. Any ideas?

Download it at work if you are allowed to or download it at home and convert it there.

Or use OpenOffice instead of Works.
It is a free office suite that is compatible with Office, which I assume is used by your workplace.

Another possibility - instead of Works, use Google Documents And Spreadsheets, again free.
This is web-based so your documents are stored on line and can be accessed from any pc in the world.

I love it - you can invite other people to read, edit or collaborate your documents, or keep them totally private.
