when i go into my files through the 'my computer' link or through my documents i have some files i don't recognise.
lxcerme and PROTTPLN are 2.
anyone know what these are and where they belong?
I'm running windows xp and office word 97.

Or perhaps you should just leave them alone ....
if it ain't broke and all that ... I take it your question is curiosity and not because of a problem.
alternatively ... if you just can't live with the thought of two file taking up space on your hard drive
(like when a filling falls out)
create a folder called deletemelater
move the two files into it ... carry on regardless for a couple of weeks ... print a few files etc etc .... when you are certain you don't have any new problems ... delete the files.
(and folder - don't want another question about the deletemelater folder in six months ;-)
