Can someone explain the difference between XP Pro & Vista please?....My PC in on XP Pro and my existing laptop on XP Home......I am purchasing a new Laptop but they all come with Vista Home installed. Can you tell me
(a) Is there much difference?
(b) Have Microsoft still got problems with their new baby?

it's not so much problems ... the os is reasonably compared to XP at the same age.

and like XP the codebase and folder structure is different .... so some proggys work OK ... some need Vista versions ... and some just won't work at all.

one solution is a virtual machine - see

I've used them for many years now for various tasks ... and they are good.

that way you CAN have your cake and eat it ....
