slow broadband

I've just replaced my speedtouch modem with a wireless router (Netgear DG834G v2) however my broadband speed has plummeted from 7.6 meg to 114 kbits/sec (I ran a speed check), any ideas what causes this?
The last time it was because I had an extra adsl filter connected but it's not the case here,
any help appreciated,

Which provider are you with cause this is important to know

ISP is Orange

[WoWo]

Orange have recently been upgrading the connections at local exchanges and this has caused many connections to run slowely. My own connection which is Orange has been terribel over the last 3-4 months....

Check this site for more info and some discussion on how to work out where your problem might be

thanks for the link, I'll check it out, however it was running as mentioned it was running at 7.6 meg on Saturday afternoon then 114kbps Saturday night after wireless router set up,
