Can anyone recommend software I can use on my Mac for capturing what's happening on my screen as I watch it?

Camtasia Studio is for the PC.

I want to make a "How To" tutorial and need to record what I'm doing. I will also need this software to capture animations and short videos from the web. Not screen grabs but live motion pictures.

I was going to use "iShowU" but was advised not to use it.

Shareware or Freeware is ok but I would be willing to pay for the software if it meets my requirements.
TIA.

Thanks Pat Flanel.
Just what I was looking for.
I've downloaded Snapz Pro X 2.1.0.
It's just a 30 day trial but this will do for me to make my tutorial and then I'll dump it. Now I know what to use in the future.

Many thanks for your answer.
