ear phone socket not working

hi, just installed a sound card but now my ear phone socket on the front of my tower doesnt work why is this how can i sort it out ? i can still use the ones on the back of my tower but have to fight though cables which is not always good for me.THANKS

The front socket is probably connected to whatever was previously used for sound. Trace the connection back and see if there is a way to attach it to your new sound card.

Also check your monitor and speakers, sometimes these have headphone sockets.

If the worst comes to the worst you could get an extension cable, plug it in at the back and leave the "open" end at the front for easy access.
