In the good old days of DOS PrtScn did indeed output to the printer. However, under Windows it only sends a copy (picture) of the desktop to the Clipboard which can then be pasted into a graphics application.

To print any text or graphics you must use the Print command (via a toolbar or button) from within an application.
u can just press print screen---go to start---all programs/accessories/paint/edit paste
This isn't how it works.
