Access to files on CD.

I have a CD with lots of files on that I cannot access. I know they are on, because I have used them previously. However, I had this problem once before and downloaded a special program that allows access to files on any cd in any format. Can anyone help please? This problem has arisen because the special program was deleted when I had my pc repaired. Thanks.
