ok, i just got a macbook.
i went onto google and typed in something rather embarrasing to search for.
now everytime i search for something beginning with that letter, it comes up in a box underneath as if making a 'suggestion' for me.
is there anyway i can delete this? I'd die if someone saw it.

HELP!

on IE you do this via tools - internet options - delete files and delete cookies, but I'm not sure what the mac alternatives are. Basically, clear out your cache.
Try clicking on the Go tab at the side of the google box. Then click on delete history
Click on favourites, then go to up to tools. Click on that and it will ask you if you want to delete.
Scroll down and delete.
Forgor to mention, after you go to tolls, go down to internet optione then click on that again, then delete.
All far too complicated.

Just hover over the embarrassing thing so it is highlighted and press delete.

It's gone.

Easy!
goodness, you're right, Panic Button - I see where you got your name from. I shall bear it in mind next time I need to remove my searches for Chris Rea.
I assume you're using Safari?

Panic Button: that doesn't seem to work on a mac.

baremission: click safari->reset safari, from the menu bar.
Also go to tools , internet options , content , auto complete , and clear forms. This will clear search words as in googling bar.:-)
