Why do I keep hearing the Default Beep?

Every now and then, sometimes more often, my laptop keeps making the 'Default Beep' sound for seemingly no reason. When I put it into hibernation or shut it down it does it twice, everytime. I've virus checked the laptop and have found nothing. I'm running Windows XP and don't have any background programs running other than AVG and the OS.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

Cost hosting a basic website???
