abode reader problem

my abode reader does not let me open it to read my correspondence that needs the abode reader,on trying, i get the message acrobat plug in is missing, i cannot uninstall or re install abode,help please as i am stuck.

More info needed - what happens when you try to install or uninstall Adobe reader?

rojash,trying to uninstall i get patch cannot be found.
then i try to install but get told cannot be installed abode running in the tray abode icon shows,but i cannot get it to open,hope you understand, thanks ken.

Try this:
Click Start/run
Type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and click ok
Go to the Startup tab
Scroll down until you find the item "Reader-sl"
Uncheck it
Click OK and restart the machine
Try to unistall it now
