I had skype installed on my computer but someone I know traced me through my name & basically I didn't want to have contact with them. I uninstalled skype a few days ago & intended to reinstall using a different name/username but tonight when I've reinstalled it its kept all the same settings for me. Is there anyway I can get a new identity on this or is it a case of just blocking the person who is intent on trying to ring me when I'm on there? If you can help I would be so grateful. thank you!

Yes there is. I have three separate Skype accounts for different things - very useful.

Open Skype - Click File - sign out.

Now open Skype again and you should get the sign in page.

Click the 'don't have a skype name' link and it will take you to the registration page. Use a new id and preferably a different email address.

Don't forget you can 'block' ids in Skype so they can't contact you. If they are in your 'contact' list, right click on the name, and click 'block this user'.
