lap tops
I want to buy my daughter a lap top to enable her to do her college work and access the intanet and the college intranet.
The computer will need to have a decent memory and she will probably want to play some games on it. Think she might like a dvd player with it as well. Can anyone reccomend a decent lap top that wont break the bank.

You need to discuss with her physical size - a big screen is nice and essential for graphic designers but makes the laptop bulky and heavy for carrying around.
Have a good look at the online stores where you can easily compare the specs. I suggest you look at Tesco, Woolworths, PCWorld, Argos.

If you can, buy Dell. They have good backup, easy access to parts and no middleman.

You should buy your daughter a high quality Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it. I would highly recommend it, especially for a college student.
