@ key types as " and vice versa

Just reloaded my grandsons Dell Inspiron...never had this before on any laptop so a fix is needed please...anyone.

@ key types as " and vice versa..all other keys are fine.

i think you have to change the 'language' to United Kingdom

go to Control Panel, Regional and Language.

All i can find googeling is about alt num lock etc...none of it works...all the other keys are fine...playing hell with emails.

apparently there are two UK versions? Try UK British?

Thanks...checked it out but....All settings are set to English United Kingdom.

It's just those two keys...@ types as " and " types as @...everything else is fine.

Really confused over this..spent the last hour searching...just cant find an answer???? never seen this before.
Ive seen it on PC's at work, but never fixed it lol (as you can tell)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...found it!!!!!!


There was a EN Language Bar...on task bar...clicked it and it brought up Text service and input language...under settings i clicked English (United Kingdom) and removed English (US)

Clicked apply and it's all as it should be now...phwew...

something breaks your flow ... and then you spend hours getting it back.

I use unattended installs ... created with sysprep

ooooooohhhhh AC.... a bit technical that!!!! looks interesting though and i'm always willing to learn...pity the memory has off days lol :))))
it's easy

everything you need is on the CD

look in the support folder (yes that's what it's for!!)
(\SUPPORT\TOOLS\deploy.cab for sysprep.exe)

it's menu driven
from time to time I create a new CD
