After "ridding" my computer of spyware applications, I found that loads of bookmarks'd gone missing. These weren't particularly important - but it was very annoying. I'm using a 4 year old computer with Windows XP, and not very good with technical things. Is it possible to retrieve the bookmarks in a simple fashion? Thanks.
Oh cheers! That looks as though it could be helpful. Only one teeny prob - how do I uninstall FF..and then install it again? I bet you're sick of answering me now!
are you using downloaded antispyware?
when you rid spyware from your computer, you are probably wiping system files too
think you may need to reinstall from your recovery disc
Thanks very much Neil.
No - I added Spybot S & D by typing it in, after an IT engineer friend gave me the addy (apparently there are a few bogus ones lurking on the net?). It seems to work brilliantly - but the bookmarks disappeared before I put that on. I'll try and do what's been suggested, and if not, I'll just have to get somebody in to look at things. Thanks again.
Sorry to butt in here Icy but I have a question for Neil. When I click on import from the file menu the message gives two options. One from Microsoft Internet Explorer and one from Opera. However I am using Firefox and it is my default browser. I have used Opera and Explorer in the past. How do I get Firefox as an option? Thanks.
