windows automatic dowload problems

I Originally posted this in Technology by mistake so I am Trying again here. My computer which runs windows Vista gets automatic updates. Yesterday there were a few updates all of them downloaded and installed successfully except the following:
Update for windows vista(K8942763) I get the error code 80070643 . When I clicked on the help button it said that this code was for windows office which I have not got . the update is classified as important . any ideas as to what I can do ? :-D

If the update is specificaly for office and failed (presumably as a result of your not actually having office) the only solution I can think of is buy office and re-apply the fix?

Assuming you mean KB942763 instead of K8942763

I'm a bit confused as

which isn't for office

any chance you could fail to apply something easier to identify?

Thank you both for replying. rojash I tried what you said in my other post it did not work unfortunately.
ACtheTROLL Yes as I said to rojash in my other post it was a B and not an 8 My eyesight was playing up. It was the error code given that related to microsoft office not the update . I have the update downloaded it just will not install. I keep getting the automatic updates icon saying new updates are available. I am in England do I really need this update? It is the first update not to install . I use the latest Comodo free Firewall. could this have any thing to do with it? Thanks again.:-D

It's never going to install if you don't get a copy of office.

If you run update manually you can see a list of pending updates ...and also disable the installation of ones you don't need ... this will stop the nags
