Memoery card/stick to store photos on
I have hundreds of photos on my computer and I need to put them all on a memory stick but I have no idea what sort to get. There are so many different types that I am stumped. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

You could put them on a usb stick like this one

Or a memory card similar to those used in cameras

Size you need will depend on how many pictures you have and how big they are. You might be better off cost wise burning them on to a cdr or dvdr as the discs only cost a few pence each

don't really follow your logic
cd\dvd is "made for the job". while a memory stick is smaller it's still volatile memory .... just unplugging it at the wrong time could result in you loosing the lot.
and memory sticks do have a finite storage life before they start to forget (off the top of my head I think it's 5 years?)
I know you could argue that scratching a cd will have the same result .... but a decent quality cd will last much longer than a memory stick.
a memory stick is best suited to transporting files .... not storing them
