belkin wireless G router and virgin broadband pc guard
I have just installed a belkin wireless router it is connected to my ntl (virgin) cable broadband modem and to my desktop pc with ethernet cables. I have no problem using the internet, but whan i try to download updates to the virus definitions on virgin pc guard, everytime i try a message comes that i am not connected to my home computer, is this problem to do with the router giving my computer a different I.P. address, if so how do i cure the problem. if this is not the cause does any one have any ideas? many thanks

thanks for your response,
i have now found and solved the problem,
it was that the belkin router had changed the i.p. address for my computer, and pc guard was trying to find my old i.p. when installing anti virus updates, maybe this was the wrong way about solving the problem but it worked:- i did an uninstall on pc guard, then reinstalled it with the belkin router connected...... problem solved... well uptill now anyway, once again thanks for the two responses, though very helpful, SLURP.
