I don't know about jpg but you can do this with a .gif, but you need a piece of software. Some graphics packages include it, but there are free gif animators on PC magazine utility discs.
Download the free IrfanView program if you haven't already got it. Through the 'image' tab you can create a panorama image, stitching any amount of images either horizontally or vertical.
you can't do this with the jpeg file format, only GIF. You will need a program like Adobe Imageready or macromedia Fireworks. I suppose there are freeware progs available too. Try www.tucows.com.
