Why is it when I burn a DVD on my computer I cant play it on the DVD player else where, it says it is blank. yet it plays on the PC.

What type of DVD's are you burning too DVD-R, DVD+R,DVD-RW or DVD+RW.

What type of dvd does your standalone player usually accept.

What file system are the DVD,s when you have burnt them,are they DVD or AVI (DivX)

Are they homemade DVD's, copies or downloads from the internet.

depends on what you have burned to the DVD. maybe your DVD player can play certain types of DVD. What model is the DVD player? Did the DVD finalise correctly? Have you tried the DVD in another PC?
Finalise the dvd in the pc and it will play in most other players.
