Thankyou tigersam258,I am still new at this what card has to be put in this laptop to get it to start??????? sorry still learning.
Can this be a card to get a better signal for Wi-Fi ???.

Thanks for your help.
no. its a media card like one that you would use in a digital camera. you shouldnt need to have anything in that slot to start the laptop.

If the laptop is WIFI enabled you shouldnt need to add a different card however you might need a mobile card if you want to access the internet whilst out of range of a wireless access poinbt (router) that you are authorised to use. These can be purchased from most mobile phone stores and some electrical outlets.

what model is the laptop as I use a Dell Vostro 1500 and it picks up wireless points really well.
If you put the sd card out of your camera into that slot, you will be able to download the pictures much quicker than connecting your camera to the pc and using the camera software.

YOu can also save files to the sd card, if you want to.
