Laptop screens reflective or not.
I am in the process of looking for a Laptop around 400.What I need to know is has anyone had any experience, views, critisicm etc of these new reflective screens the laptops have nowadays. Mainly "Truelife" for Dell laptops and "Crystalbrite" for Acer laptops.
I had a quick look in a store at someof them but I just can't make my mind up whether I like them or not. The screenshots do look better but I'm not sure whether the reflection of lights etc would be too annoying.
Thanks in advance for your kind answers.

Some important questions though:
1) Are there lights behind where you'll mainly be using it? If so, perhaps a bad idea.
2) Do you do photography stuff with it? The reflective screens are being chosen now because they give more vibrant colours. While good on screen, perhaps, it's not 100% accurate if you're doing more serious work.
(You say screenshots. Have you seen any in person? Ignore any computer images of what they look like.)
Personally -- I don't like them.

Thanks fo3nix. Where I sit at home there aren't any lights behind but obviously I don't want to be tied to that chair all the time.
What I am talking about regarding screenshots. I was in PC World and as you know all the laptops have something in operation and I was comparing screens.
I must admit I really like the looks of these reflective screens but whether enough to put up with the reflections I'm not sure.

Perhaps it's just a chance to take?
They do give more vibrant colours. Most that object to them are those that do real photography work on them, so want true colour reproduction.
Know anyone that has a laptop with reflective screen? Perhaps ask them if they can bring it round some time to try it, see what you think in your house (since the store will have tons of bright lights, perhaps affecting things).

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a reflective screen so I can't test drive one at home.
Everyone I speak to though (except my son) say they don't like them.
They don't seem to go down very well but the manufacturers seem to prefer making them without an option for a matte screen.
I'll have to stew for a bit as to what to do.
Cheers.
