I have recently had pc repaired ( new motherboard ), formatted and had another drive fitted which is slave.
When doing Windows updates some installed ok but there are 14 which cannot be installed, no reason given.

Have contacted Windows update Help but no response as yet, just wondering if any AB'ers could give me a clue.

Thanks in anticipation!!! :)

Which updates were you not able to install?
Have you updated to SP3 for XP, if so I know some of the updates fail if you try to do them after the new service pack upgrades. If these are vital can I suggest rolling back SP3 and installing this after you have installed the other updates.

Many thanks for info, it's SP3 updates,---can download them but installation fails.
DONT back off SP3 yet.

I got a problem after I installed SP3. All my updates downloaded but none would install.

I found this and followed Method 1 and it solved my problem.
