volume control problem on xp
I have tried to use microsoft resolution KB319095 to correct the issue re the missing volume icon on my xp home edition pc.
I have followed the instructions on it placing the xp cd rom in the pc making sure it does not open up fully, i then type on the command prompt following the instructions given.....it gives another error message on the command prompt...
** cd rom is not recognised as an internal or external command operable program or batch file **
Can anyone please help

if you open up my computer you will see all your drives listed there, your cd drive will be something like letter d or e so at the command prompt type
d: or e: depending on the driver letter and hit enter then followed by the rest of the instructions
