Camcorder issue

I have a JVC hard disk camcorder and have a problem getting the videos off it and onto a disc.
I have bought Nero 8 but I don't think it's compatible. I have just about managed to burn videos to a dvdrw which plays on the PC. However, when I take it downstairs and put it in the DVD player to watch on TV, there is nothing - why?

Could it be the video format (whatever that is)

Thanks in advance
Mike

Hiya Mike

I'm not entirely sure this will answer your query, but remembering how frustrating it can be not knowing what to do, I thought it worth the risk.
Having retrieved the video file from your camcorder and saved it onto your hard drive, there's a bit of work to do before it can be seen on a standalone dvd player.
It's not difficult but a bit long-winded so if you'd care to email me at [email protected] maybe I can be of more help to you.
If you have the file on the pc you could try this free program.
It will convert and burn the result to dvd.
