So they want to sell you shoddy batteries and won't accept any liability for any loss or damage.

The cells in a laptop battery are easy to replace by the average home handymen. There is info on the net on how to crack the cases. Get the cells with the wire already soldered to each battery if you can, that is the trickiest bit.
