Thank you linda. I'll try all that in the morning. The whole thing's done my head in. So I just switch on...get to the start page or something and then do it?
terambulan - I looked at the internet connection in the control panel earlier, and everything seemed to be OK, but I can look again, thanks. Btw - too long-wonded to go into, but the guy who set everything up and has the codes, etc., works for us. he's a computer programmer and engineer, but isn't available at the moment. that's why I desperately need help here, and you've all been very kind. x
