Font size gauge

Some years ago, when I was teaching ICT, another tutor at a meeting had a clear acetate sheet on which was printed various gauges for measuring font height and line thickness on printed work. I didn't get to speak to her for long enough to know where she got it from and I've been looking for one ever since.

Does anyone know of such a thing that I can download?

the last time I saw one it was in a wordstar manual (circa 1993)

points are 1/72"
and If I remember correctly courrier is measured in exact points (upper case )
and excel rows and columns are sized in points.
so while it will be a labour of love .... you could make a decent guage and ruler by setting the row and column widths and printing them on a transparency
