Do any of you nice AB folk know of any good and reliable free online software that checks and removes viruses on a Vista operating system?

online isn't good ... if a website can get into your important little places - you are vulnerable the whole idea of protection is that it stops everything getting in and deals with anything that has before it can do damage.
there is a train of thought that says if you back up a clean system .... run without anything ... and accept that you'll heve to restore on a regular schedule.
it depends on your vices ... and only an idiot would bank or store important data on it - but as a surf and games machine it's always going to be faster
