Vista - probably a silly question but...

...I am currently running XP but the time has come to get a new PC. Obviously, these will all be Vista now, so my question is, will the stuff I have got for XP be OK still for Vista, or am I likely to encounter compatibility problems. I had this when I changed from 98 to whatever was next, and as a result I was unable to run certain programs.

You may well have compatibility problems to start with but most program makers now have updates or patches so their products will work on Vista.I have been using Vista for over a year now and I can't remember the last time I had any compatibility problems.
You'll be fine, the only thing you might have a struggle with is if your printer or scanner are a bit long in the tooth. If they're relatively recent models then there'll be drivers available on their web sites.

Far too much scare-mongery around about Vista, once you've got it you'll be fine, I've been on it for ages now and don't have any problems at all.
I think if you ask around you can still get XP.
Dell will still put XP on their products. You also get a Vista disk so you can downgrade to Vista later if you are having a moment of foolishness.
beso, have you ever had any experience of a Vista PC? Not just a quick go but a proper explore of it. I have found that the main group of people who slag it off are those who have never used it or those who believe everything they read about it in the media without finding out for themselves.
