I done a daft thing last night I downloaded a file and after I downloaded it I thought oh god doh I should not have done that. My suspicions were confirmend soon afterwards when i got a message in the taskbar at the bottom saying you have a security problem with a red circle and a cross through it. I knew this was not from windows security or anything and then a message came up saying your computer will run slowly and not behave right if you have a security problem blah, blah, blah, do you want to download security 1988 or something to fix this problem.
Wel of course i did not click on the link but switched of and run a spybot check which did not come up with much more than the usual spyware.
I then tried a full scan and that said I had 4 threats but cold not finish properly as all manner of these windows were popping up and it was trying to download stuff without me even clicking on it. I have tonight now run another spybot check and am now running another full scan without being connected to the net and the only message that has come up is the one in the bottom taskbar again saying you have a security problem I am running xp and have the windows firewall and avg anti-virus Any ideas folks, ethel chuck-fickins maybe.
Yep thats the one squarebear have just downloaded malwarbytes and it got rid of it straight away.
It also got rid of over 100 other little nasties as well. My comp has been running very slow other the past 2-3 months and seems to be running much faster now so I suppose all the other little nasties did not help.
