mouse pointer drifting

Has anyone seen this before and if so, how did you fix it?
My mouse pointer arrowhead drifts across the screen without me touching it.

I've seen laptops do it a few times, especially if the have those horrible pointer sticks in the middle of the keyboard.

nipples aren't horrible... and those pointer thingys are one of the worst inventions ever... I refuse to associate them with nipples

its the red bit in the middle of the keyboard, you use it to control the mouse pointer

I had a nipple on a teeny tiny Sony laptop - it is like a mini joystick right in the middle of the keyboard that replaces the mouse

O my arrow shakes so much (no nowt do with me lol) and I dont have a lappy -I was wondering what it was as well.

Its calmed down the last couple of days but man must have had a severe dose of the DT's-(joking apart -not that that was funny really ) -wonder why the arrow shakes so much -its quite frustrating as you cant bleeding get it to settle on what you want to view.

dris, if you have a optical mouse (the ones without a ball when you look underneath it) then try using it on a different surface

The drifting mouse pointer thing happened to me at work ac couple of times, it would move across the screen without me touching the mouse, later realised it was cus it was cus me tapping my legs on the floor made the desk vibrate and therefore the mouse pointer move hehe - I'm sure its nothing like that though (only me thats that daft) lol

Go to Control Panel and Mouse. Klik on the mouse program and you can slow the mouse speed. Dont forget to okay changes. Switch off pc for changes to effect....count 10 and switch back on.

My mouse speed is at half-way on the scale.

Chuck thats the type I have no ball just a red LCD light-so it could be the surface then ??
