I am trying to fill cells in a table with various colours. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?
I know I can highlight the text but the colours are very limited and I need to use quite an array of colours, like the palette you get to change font with.

In what??

I will assume excel though.

There's a little icon on the tool bar that looks like a paint pot pouring paint, click on the arrow right beside it it and a little menu pops up of the colours, click the colour you want and if fill the selected cells
have you got the legs the same length?

Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! I should have said I was working in Word. I realise cell made it sound like Excel.
lol @ acthetroll

In Word, highlight the cell, choose FORMAT, Borders & Shading, then Shading and pick your colours from there.
insert an excel worksheet to use as your table and fill those as I said above, this will give you a far wider range of colours

Thanks to everyone for their answers and witty comments. I was going to use Excel but couldn't fit everything on one sheet and I am not allowed to use a second sheet.
