CD burner

Hi
Im going mad!!
My CD burner keeps telling me to put in a blank disc.I have tried several different makes of disc but the same thing happens.I have even installed new hardware but exactly the same message. The machine will play a DVD or audio disc but not recognise a blank disc. I have re installed all the drivers that came with the computer and now have run out of ideas. Has anyone got a clue.Chil

When you say you have installed new hardware, what hardware? do you mean you have replaced the drive with a new one?

also forgive me if I'm stating the obvious and you have done this, try uninstalling it from device manager and restarting the computer.

Are you using standard or rewritable CDs? R/Ws may need formatting 1st. Oh,& does this drive burn DVDs as well as play them? Nero asks if you want to burn CDs or DVDs.
