lexmark x4650

I am thinking about buying a Lexmark X4650 printer/scanner. (because it's cheap and I'm a pensioner). The ad says that it is with "wireless capability". Does that mean that I won't be able to use it with the lead from my very old Canon BJC 1000?
Are these machines being sold off cheaply because they're no good?

You will need to buy a usb A to B cable for the Lexmark printer, as the cable you use for old printer will probably be a parallel one, these aren't really used anymore.

The wireless part means that the printer can be connected to a wireless network and anyone can use it at any time, without it having to be connected to a computer first and shared.

I have a older version of the Lexmark all in one and it works fine, but I don't do a large amount of printing.

Lexmark are cheap to buy but very expensive to run- sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new printer than buy new ink cartridge.
Best to get a printer you can refill the inks yourself - my canon printer has cli-8 ink cartridges which are easy to refill , I don't even think about the cost of printing a4 photos because it is pennies.

single colour inks are cheaper
the pixima range are a good alternative

what's your version of windows?
the bjc is a 95/98 printer ...
the lexmark (and my pixima) DO NOT support 95/98/me
and 98 doesn't support USB without the drivers
