You can fast forward and rewind on most CD players, normally just by holding down the track forward or back buttons.

That's not quite what I meant.I have transferred audio tape to cd.What I was hoping for was to beable to do as on a cd player ie press #1 play.....don't like.....press a few times more and get the one I do like.At the moment I have to run right through all the recordings one after the other till I get to the one I want,if you see what I mean?????

When you recorded your audio (cassette?) to your computer, did you record it as one long track? And have you burnt it to CD as one long track? If the answers are "yes", this will be the source of your problem.

After copying to your computer's hard drive as one long track, you will need to manually split this track into separate tracks for each song before burning.

Thanks Sputnik, yes I did all the wrong things you suggested.I think I know how to split but would appreciate a few pointers please.I understand that the individual tracks can either be numbered or titled but I can see no way of typing this info in (Audacity) Thanks for your continued help!!!!!!!
