Auto tab in ne W 2007 Doc

Inserting a tab before a new paragraph, starts the text ca 1.5 cm from the LH edge, but I'd like to halve that as per my W 2003 docs.
Where do I find the basic template to make the change - if this is possible?

search for "normal.dotm"
(formally normal.dot")

you need to use "open files of type" to actually get at it - otherwise you'll just open a new doc
