What is your browser? Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox?
If you are getting your Q/A from a website (or websites) you have several options.
For example, I use Firefox as my browser and one of the optional extensions is Scrapbook.
With this I am able to save web pages to a folder in my scrapbook quickly and easily. The scrapbook folders are easy to name and manage.

Another option is Google Notebook - this works well with IE and Firefox and is simple to use. Watch the demo here:

If you explain in more detail exactly what you want to do, we'll come up with the best way for you.

then again ... you could just use a text editor ... copy and paste the answer(s) into a text file and save with a name that means something
think of it as an O/s and application independent solution
so you don't need to dash out and buy a mac running ubuntu which uses firefox to access the safari homepage
(aka as the easy way)
just higlight the text
copy (Ctrl+c) or Edit | copy
go to the folder right click
new | text document
then
paste (ctrl+v or Edit | paste
then File | save as | how to save tips.txt (in this example)
job done

)thanks Ethel & AC for your input. I am on Windows XP media and use FireFox browser the latest edition I believe.
What I want is a (scrapbook) of Q/A of problems I may have and other information I think may be of interest to me in the future.
Put it simply I wish to read say highlight click something and something else and it goes into my (diary?). I t does not have to be highly itemised but dated would be useful. Does this give you enough to recommend some system
I spent the last couple of hours of Christmas day logging on to the suggested sites you mentioned amd went to bed more confused than a monkey with alcoholic poisoning.

The scrapbook for firefox will work very well for you.
Download it, restart firefox.
When you want to save a page, simply right click, click 'capture page as' and input a good name into the box.
When you want to view your scrapbook, simply press the alt key and K, and all your pages and folders will appear in a column on the left of your screen.
Give it a go.
