Laptop forgets.

Bought Acer one mini, disappointed for various reasons, BUT bought monitor VA1716w for easier viewing. Whole set up works fine with the laptop blank and the monitor functioning normally. Now when I disconnect the monitor and reconnect at a later time, the Acer has forgotten the settings and I can only get back to normal by performing a System Restore.

After disconnecting, the monitor is unable to receive the signal.
Any ideas?

Thanks Chuck, but no luck.
PC to monitor....no problem monitor takes over.
Disconnect, then reconect.......PC takes over and monitor blank. Monitor cannot recognise signal.
System restore does just that.

PS Bought this little Aspere 0ne....too b;00dy fiddly...driving me mad.
thats a pain.... FN+ F5 should swap between video outputs.

I assume it's an XP version of the one?

if so right click on the desktop, select properties and then click on the settings tab. from there click advanced and if there is a displays tab click on it.

in there you should be able to swap the display outputs about to turn the monitor back on.

Nope, only way to do a System Restore each time P.C is disconnected from monitor..........PC seem to forget the settings.

I thought I was clever buying this mini Aspire...but unless you have "spindle fingers" then forget it.

Thanks for trying Chuck.
