Please can someone help!! Im stuck!! i recently had my computer in at the pc doctor to clear a virus. Since iv had it back my option box that normally pops up when i insert my sd card has gone and when i insert a disc into the drive it does not start up automaticallyi have to use the run option. This is frustrating me as i liked the quickness of the pop up box that had all the options.

and also my email inbox has vanished too!

Take it back and get it sorted out.

I agree with bemore. Take it back and get them to sort it.

It sounds like you have been attacked by the computer tech from hell who seems to think the only way to remove a virus is to backup nothing, reload your computer from scratch, loose all your emails, screw up your settings and charge you an arm and a leg for the privilege.

If you right click on your CD/DVD drive in My Computer, go to Properties, then onto the Autoplay tab.
Make sure the "Prompt me each time to choose and action" is selected.
That should bring up the prompt when you insert a disk.

The same should work for your SD card drive.

Thanks ppl for your answers,mr bounty i hav followed your instruction and i have this box checked. So i can only assume that its because both drives are not starting up themselves which they were doing b4 the comp. doc!! drive d the disc one sounds as though it is starting then stops..may have to take it back in but then i am affraid something else will go wrong with it!!
