how do i figure out what is wrong with my laptop?
when i plug in to charge it up it doesn't always work staraight away ie seems like no connection?.but i have now tested the battery back and message says detected a problem with the battery.could it be that there is a problem with both.which one do i replace???as they are both expensive i think.
battery is more expensive.
make of laptop is HP PRESARIO C300EU

check the battery charger first. may be charger is not charging the battery properly.
after that check the battery back up.

you can also take the help of the laptop repair shop to check the battery .

there is no problem in the laptop.
battery back up is not proper due to not charging the battery so check the battery and the charger.

If you remove the battery, can you power the laptop solely from the power supply unit? If so, it's not that at fault.
Then it's possible it's the battery.

ah i have now discharged the battery so battery is now 0% and obviously i am still using computer so i reckon it is battery because i cannot charge it up anymore.
when i get a new one should i take battery out when using power adapter??
i didnt realise that i could still use the laptop with no charge in the battery doh.I know I should know..

took the battery out and now cannot use computer.have had adapter tested and its that what has gone.price in shops �49 and online �16.99

have you checked the battery and the adapter . which is not working . check the batter in the computer shop for the battery back up after that you can take the new battery which is according to you best
try to charge the battery from the another adapter.
you can also check the adapter by charging another battery.

after that you can find out which one is dead and you can easily replace the product.

should get new adapter soon will let all know the outcome because the 2 shops tested the adapter and said it was dead so hopefully battery will be ok.fingers crossed.i really do miss not having the ole laptop.sad eh?

it was the adapter at fault.laptop now working but do still think i have problem with the battery because it lappears to lose charge quickly at the moment. i'll see what happens when the charge up to 100% again and see how long it holds the charge

you can also change the battery of the laptop if the battery is not providing the backup of the light to the laptop.

how is your battery old . if it comes in the wanrranty than you can change the battery before expiring the warranty time.

for a good backup you can take a new battery so you get more back up of the light to run the computer.
