Firefox & "Recent Posts"...

Hi! As so many AB'ers have extolled the virtues of Firefox, I thought I'd get it & see...It's ok, but I suspect any slowness is caused by my steam-driven PC!

My Q is this - I can't get "Recent Posts" to refresh - am I missing something blindingly obvious?

I'd appreciate any A's in my language, ie "Stupidese"!

Thanks for your time & attention :-)

I just tried it and you need to click the words "Recents Posts" and the word next to it toggles between 'refresh' and 'on'.

However, through my two minutes of experimentation, it is not clear which this should be on! If you work it out, then I would be keen to know. I assume it's 'on', but the list seemed to change both ways??
The recent post refresh does not work in firefox.

You have to refresh the entire page, hopefully this is something that they will sort out in the new (soon to be expected) version of AB

Thanks Pigletion - I'm back on IE now, where it always works - Firefox doesn't let me do anything with "Recent Posts" & I have to refresh the page each time...

Hi Chuck! Thanks for that - just waiting for the big day, then! Hmmm.... :-)
I find when i can't log on using IE
I can log on if I use Firefox
but like you say the lack of the refresh is a pain in @ss.
that makes sense then, as nothing was happening automatically!

Thanks
it is a pain.... here comes a rarity, I'm gonna post a question! (well seggestion!)

Hi noknow - it'll work fine with the new AB, cos we know they know what they're doing...right?
Of course they know what they are doing Lie-in King :0(
The 'recent posts' facility uses coding that could be put to malicious use. So Firefox is deliberately designed to ignore it.

The way around it is to use the ReloadEvery extension:

Chris
or another add-on for firefox that will make it work is IE tab

it basically lets you open a new tab in firefox that uses the IE engine and not the firefox one

Firefox isnt the fastest or most secure one out now
see go to http://www.fixmypcuk.com click on helpful information and then I think it's the 6th link down
its listed anyway

by the way anyone with children should read that website!

Many thanks to Chris, Chuck & Lew - this is the 1st chance I've had to come back & am just passing through on my way to my pit, but I'll certainly look at your suggestions! :-)
