I am trying to backup my laptop running vista, but I keep getting message disk full and it doesn't ask for another disk am I missing something?

Yep, mainly missing information about how your trying to backup, and what to.

When asking tech questions details are important!
Well it would help us if you told us which program you were using to back it up, and what you are backing it up to (hard disk, CD, DVD, USB stick etc)

What exactly are you trying to back up (all your files, some of your files, or an image of your hard disk)?

I am trying to backup my files and folders onto dvd

I am using vista backup and restore program
a DVD backup will not ask you to insert another disk (though you still failed to say how your backing things up)

a DVD will hold 4.7gb (typically) so you have to select about 4.7gb, back that up to DVD, then select the next 4.7gb and back that up to the next DVD and so on....
