if i clone my hard drive to another hard drive with the trial (fully working) version of acronis then change the copied hard drive to master.will this still work after the trial period has ended ,i say this as i had a back up of system state with this and when i took the acronis prog off, the system state would not respond when i tested it to open up or will back ups only work with the paid system of acronis

Well a clone is a clone, so I would GUESS that Acronis wont affect this clone one way or another if it is installed or not.

I have no proof of this, but this is different from having a BACKUP of a hard drive that does require Acronis installed to restore.
Yea it should still work fine.

But forget Acronis. Try CloneZilla.

It does the same job, but is free software. It's based on open source tools.
