My Dell with Vista can take a long time to power off; it doesn't always depend on the number of sites visited or facilities uesd. Is there any way of shortcutting by not logging on as I am the sole user?
First you talk about shutting down, but then you talk about starting up.
If there is only one user account, and the user doesn't have a password, you won't get the log on screen. In other words, you can speed up the start-up by not having a password.
Is there any way of shortcutting the lengthy shut down by by not logging on at all as I am the sole user?
Am I going to find it hard to delete the password?
